Design Philosophy There are three fundamental methods of illuminating a space
via suspended luminaires:
Direct Lighting All light is aimed downward into the space
This method is very effective at delivering light to work surfaces
Bright luminaires against a dark ceiling can cause reflective glare
A dark ceiling may cause a visual "cut off" line in the space
Scalloped light patterns on the wall can occur
Indirect Lighting
All light is "bounced" off the ceiling and
dispersed throughout the space
The ceiling acts as the "light source"
Creates a soft, uniform lighting environment
Minimal glare on V.D.T.'s and desktops
Direct/Indirect Lighting
Variable combination indirect ambient light and direct
task light
Indirect component creates uniform illumination throughout the space
Direct component improves system efficiency and boosts task illumination
Optical control minimizes glare in V.D.T.'s
Tubetec manufactures a number of direct, indirect
and direct/indirect luminaires to create environments that give quality lighting
at an affordable cost.
